One of the articles in the interior describes the process that papyrus was made into a writing surface. Individual reeds were laid in a grid, then mashed and pulverized together to meld them into one. I was inspired by the process and wanted to bring that theme into the design. The cover features multiple manuscripts interwoven, sometimes gltichy, and stapled together with brackets (the typical symbol to denote a discrepancy between different manuscripts).
