JOb

For this issue in the magazine, the special theme section walked through the story of Job. I was struggling to find a concept that fit with the complexity and sorrow in the book when I stumbled upon pieces of marbled paper.

I found some tutorials and created the marbled paper by hand, brought them in to Photoshop and styled them into this editorial section.  I love how it ties so closely to the story of suffering and confusion, almost as if nothing is solid or firm. The swirls and mixing have a visceral feeling that connects you to the plight of Job, while the gold threads mixed in bring a piece of hope and purpose.
